Snuggly Barney - JRT x Beagle (Surrey)
Barney is an adorable 9 year old Beagle x Jack Russell who is in an Oldies Club foster home in Rochester, Kent. He is about collie-sized, soft-coated and he just lives for cuddles!
Barney came into our care due to the ill-health of his owner. He took about a week to settle completely in his foster home, but he slept well from the first day. His fosterers have tried leaving him on his own for a couple of hours and he was a good boy.
One of the Oldies Club’s committee members, Sandra, lives nearby and has visited Barney in his foster home. She tells us “He is one of the most affectionate dogs I have met in a long time. He just loves fuss.”
Barney is OK with dogs he meets out and about, and in his previous home he mixed well with other dogs. He does chase cats from the garden though so he probably wouldn’t want to live with a cat. He has met his foster carers’ grandchildren and was excitable to start with, and a bit licky! He would probably be fine to live with chilren of about 8 years and over, but he is quite a strong dog and could knock little ones over with excitement.
Barney enjoys a short walk and he doesn’t pull on the lead. He’s a clever lad who knows his own mind and he will try to get his own way if you allow him to. When he decides that he doesn’t want to walk any more, he plonks his bum down! He hasn’t been let off the lead yet as it isn’t certain that he will come back straight away when called. He is a good boy in the car.
His favourite things are affection, cuddles, licking you all over, watching out of the window and being your shadow in the house. Barney enjoys having visitors but he is a little boisterous when they first come in. He soon settles down though. He doesn’t like bicycles and he will try to nip at the ankles of people riding past, so his new owners must be aware of this and keep him under close control on his lead when bikes are around.
Barney has had a vet-check since coming into our care and he is a healthy lad. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been flea and worm treated.
Sandra sums Barney up as follows: He is a great house dog and he’s good company as he loves to be with you. He will jump on your lap and snuggle right in, licking at your ears!

Re: Snuggly Barney - JRT x Beagle (Surrey)
Barney will be moving to another foster home in Surrey over the weekend. He's quite an active lad and his current fosterers dont feel they can give him the exercise he needs.

Can the title please be altered to reflect Barney is now in Surrey. Thanks.
