Tiny is a hand in, he has been with me for 2 weeks. He is a dear little dog, very loving to his family, and is the perfect lap dog. He gets very excited when its time to go for a walk, but he walks well on the lead and is fine off lead in a quiet spot. He is good in the house and has slept downstairs with my two dogs with no problems. His favorite thing is to be asleep on a lap, my two "children" are back from university, so he has a choice, he is happy with any of us. Tiny does not like to be picked up or fussed over by strangers, he will yap and be a little grumpy. Unfortunatley, as he is so totally cute, people and especially children seem to need to fuss him!
Tiny has a condition called luxating patella, often found in very small dogs like Toy Poodles, there is lots of info on-line. It causes him no problems but he may be stiff in later life.
Sometimes, Tiny will guard, or be possesive and growl with a chewy or bone, also at bed time, trying to own the sofa, we take no notice, niether do my dogs, he soon realises he is missing a treat or lap to sit on in another room!! We are all very fond of Tiny, he is such a cheeky happy boy. He has started to play with Floss my 5 and a half month old Lurcher cross, and some toys, but his favorite thing is definity sleeping on a nice comfy lap. He will be the perfect little dog for the right family.
Tiny has been to the groomers today, Poodles need daily grooming and regular trips the groomers, about every 6 weeks, unless you have good Poodle hair cutting skills of course! Tiny is good to bath, he is fairly good to groom except his legs and feet which are very sensitive. you need to be very gentle and patient. We still have not been able to pluck inside his ears, this will need to be regularly done, we are working on it. He can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet him. Please put in an application in the first instance if you are interested. Approved applications will be home checked. Details of our adoption procedures and adoption application form are here
