Murray - Border Terrier (Bath)
Twelve year old Border Terrier, Murray, arrived in Oldies Club care after a change in his owner’s circumstances. He came into rescue with his friend, Keith, who sadly had to be put to sleep, so he’s now looking for a new home on his own. He’s currently in foster care in Bath, Somerset.
Took a little while to settle: Understandably, after the stress of leaving his previous home and then losing his companion, it took Murray a little while to settle into his foster home. After about three weeks he started to pick up and his happy-go-lucky nature soon started to shine through.
Good in the home: Murray is a good little house dog as he doesn’t mind being left for reasonable periods of time and he’s not at all destructive. He’ll spend most of his time snoozing on his bed while you are out.
Loves company: Murray has been used to having the company of his friend, Keith, so whilst he doesn’t mind being left alone he would prefer to find a home with someone who can be at home for some part of the day. He loves having someone around for company
Loves his walks: Murray really enjoys going out for his walks and he’s used to being on an extendable lead. He has been let off-lead in safe areas and, more recently, when other dogs have been around.
Okay with other dogs: Whilst out on his extendable lead, Murray has met other dogs and he’s been fine with them. He was recently off-lead when another dog was nearby, but he didn’t seem interested in giving chase or wandering off.
Cat status unknown: Murray hasn’t come into close contact with cats so we can’t really be sure of his cat status. However, although he shows some interest he doesn’t pull on the lead or show signs of wanting to chase. It’s therefore possible that in the right home he could be trained to live with a confident cat.
Loves people: Murray is an adorable little chap and although he hasn’t had much close contact with children, he seems to love everyone. He has a happy and lovable nature and will make a great companion dog.
Murray’s perfect home: The ideal home for Murray would be one with someone who can be around a lot during the day so that he’ll have some company. He enjoys sitting out in the garden too, so access to a garden in his new home would be great. He likes a bit of peace and quiet so he can have a snooze in his bed and he is also quite partial to sharing your bed if you let him! He’s just a super little dog who promises to be no trouble.
Murray’s health notes: Murray was overweight when he arrived, but is gradually getting back his figure. He has some arthritis in his elbow which is being treated with Metacam and he had a dental when he first arrived which has left him with just 6 teeth. This doesn’t bother him at all and only compliments his cute little one-sided grin.
Murray is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and has been flea and worm treated.
