MO

Say hello to our Mo. She is a 2 year old ex-racing greyhound girl who didn’t take much to the racing life. She is now looking for early retirement on a soft sofa in a loving home. Mo has a pretty white coat with black badger stripes on her face and faint little spots all over. She has a very regal appearance and is a little stunner.

Mo is has a beautiful personality, and is very happy-go-lucky. She takes things as they come, and relishes all the fuss and attention she gets. She’s a nice, friendly little girl who isn’t totally in your face but is definitely happy to see you.

Mo is still a very young girl, and is bursting to see the world. She hasn’t experienced much outside of racing kennels yet, but we’re certain she’s going to completely adore the home life once she settles in. Mo has been brilliant with our other dogs and can live with smaller dogs too. She is a bit keen on cats right now, but we feel that in the right, experienced hands this girl could be trained to live in a home with cats.

Mo hasn’t yet been in a home, but it shouldn’t take her long to become settled. It generally takes 10-14 days for new greyhounds to start to settle down in a home, and really all they need is a bit of time and patience at the start. Mo travels well and settles in the car when left for a short period. She is not destructive.

Like most greyhounds, Mo won’t need a huge amount of exercise. She will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.

In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.

Mo is currently being kennelled in Co. Cork, Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick her up, and if you are in the UK and wish to meet before adopting her, she will be fostered in the Norfolk area.

Mo is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting or short-term fostering Mo, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Emails are usually replied to within 24hrs. Thanks!
