Guy ~ 3yr Old Fun Loving Greyhound (KGC)
GUY
Guy is a very sweet 3 year old black and white Greyhound boy. Poor Guy came to us with a broken leg, which was operated on and placed in a cast just over a month ago. Now the leg is all healed, the cast is removed, and it should cause Guy no further problems.
Guy now really needs a loving home in which to build up his strength again as he has lost some muscle tone when the cast was on. Hes a very friendly, happy-go-lucky fella who loves people and is ok with other dogs. He has not yet been cat tested, but this can be carried out prior to adoption if required.
**UPDATE 12/2009**
Guy’s cast is now off and his leg no longer causes him any bother at all. Hes a lovely friendly boy with a very pretty face and a beautiful long tail! Guy is very curious and active (for a Greyhound, anyway!) and is bursting to see the world outside of kennels. He loves his food but will happily share and is fine with other Greyhounds.
Guy is a bit strong on the lead and so will need some work in this area. However, I found he listened to my corrections well when I walked him and I think with regular, daily exercise and a bit of training, he will soon be walking perfectly to heel.
Guy is a fun-loving, happy hound and would make an entertaining addition to any (cat free!) family. He is now in foster care in Norfolk, where he awaits his forever home while getting used to living in a home environment.
**UPDATE 01/2010**
Guy is sadly up for rehoming again through no fault of his own. His adopter's situation changed, making it very difficult to keep a newly adopted dog. They described Guy as "a lovely house guest who was settling in after just a few days." Guy had been adopted with his friend Kellie, another KGC hound, who was also returned.

**UPDATE 02/2010**
Unfortunately Guy is feeling the effects of being moved from place to place, and has developed quite a severe case of separation anxiety that needs to be addressed. In the past two months he has travelled from kennels in Ireland, to kennels in the UK, to a foster home, to an adoptive home and back to a foster home again. This has left him rather stressed and bewildered at the minute, and its no surprise that he is currently showing some behavioural issues. The good news is he is in a lovely foster home now and is getting daily work and training to help improve these problems. His fosterer says he's already getting better at being left!
Guy has been tested with small dogs and is not safe with very small pooches, such as yorkies. He is, however, good with other large and medium sized dogs and was fine with a KGC member's terrier cross. This is also getting worked on in his foster home, and we hope that in a few weeks Guy will be a new dog, ready for his forever home! Cross your fingers for this lovely, sweet boy, who has had a very tumultuous time lately and really deserves a home to call his.
Guy will need an experienced, patient owner who understands his issues and is willing to put work in at the start while giving him time to settle in. He is a truly stunning hound and a delight to be with, loving to play and interact with people. In the right home Guy will make a beautiful, rewarding member of the family.
If you would like to know more about Guy, please do contact us and we will discuss his current behavioural problems in more detail with you.

**UPDATE 03/2010**
Guy is settled nicely in his foster home now, and is improving daily. His fosterer describes him as a big playful boy who always has a waggy tail for you. He loves to run off lead in an enclosed space and adores his squeaky ball!
Guy's separation anxiety has greatly improved and he can now be left for up to 4hrs with no trouble. He is also fully housetrained. He gets on very well with other greyhounds, but is still a bit nervous of some other breeds of dog and will bark at them at first. This behaviour has improved with training and socialisation and should continue to do so. Guy walks well on the lead now, though will occasionally pull if he gets excited or theres a smell he just cant resist!
Lovely Guy is a special boy who has a lot of love to give and needs to find a home who will be patient with him during the settling in period which may be a bit longer than normal. New owners will be given advice on how to continue with his training and socialisation in the future. With some time and dedication, Guy has the potential to be a fabulous hound in every way.
