Missy ~ Wonderful Loving Lady - 5yo Blue Greyhound
MISSY
**UPDATED: MAY 2013**
Location: Foster home in Hertfordshire, UK.
Key Points: Wonderful lady, loving, laid back, affectionate, good with all other dogs, travels well, walks to heel, learning about the home.
Missy is a very beautiful 5 year old blue greyhound girl who is now looking for a loving home after a long racing career. Missy has a very beautiful steel grey coat that is going to be just fabulous once she’s finished shedding this season.
~ Personality ~
Generally: Affectionate, easy going, loves people, happy-go-lucky.
Missy is a lovely, sweet, gentle lady who doesn’t ask for much and is very happy in herself. She soaks up any attention given to her and really enjoys human contact. She always has a wagging tail and is a real joy to be around. We can't wait to see this lovely lady in her new home, she has so much to give.
~ In the Home ~
Generally: Update coming soon.
Missy has just moved into a foster home this week, where she is experiencing a home for the first time. We will update with her progress very soon once she has had a bit of time to settle.
~ Other Animals ~
Generally: Very good with other dogs large and small, polite and laid back.
Missy is very good with other dogs of all sizes and is very polite in meeting them. She may need a bit of care if small dogs are running around offlead, but she has met several small dogs on lead now and has always been excellent with them even if they try to jump all over her. She is wonderfully laid back and takes things as they come. She is not suitable to live with cats.
~ Out and About ~
Generally: Walks to heel, good traveller, doesn’t require much exercise.
Missy walks to heel and loves going on car trips. Like most greyhounds, she will not need a huge amount of exercise. She will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly.
~ Where Am I? ~
Missy is currently in foster care in Norfolk, UK. She can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a homechecker available, but please note that you may be required to travel to the foster home to meet and collect her.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Missy is vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. She is currently in heat so has not been neutered yet, but please don’t let that stop you from asking about her. We don’t expect her to be waiting very long!
If you are interested in adopting Missy, you can contact me (Tam) via email: tam@kerrygreyhounds.co.uk, or speak directly to Bronwen by phoning: 075 000 62648. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs.
There is an application form for adopting a Kerry Greyhound, and we will ask you to fill it in as the first step in the adoption process. To speed up this process, we recommend you do this before emailing/calling. You can find the form, as well as further information on our homing procedures, on the Adoption Page: http://s300889640.websitehome.co.uk/uk/adoption.html.
Thank you.

~~ KERRY GREYHOUNDS UK ~~
Kerry Greyhounds UK is a voluntary organisation based in Norfolk, England. It focuses on rehoming unwanted Irish greyhounds and lurchers, as huge numbers are bred in Ireland each year and homes are few and far between. KGUK operates through a network of volunteers spread over Ireland and the UK. We can look after approximately 30 dogs at any one time in both kennels and foster homes.
Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, & microchipped before being adopted (unless stated otherwise).
We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in all corners of the UK. If interested in one of our hounds, please feel free to contact us via the following:
