Lucy - Collie Cross (Milton Keynes, Bucks)
Lucy is a simply perfect 11 year old Collie X girl who came into Oldies Club care because her owner was moving to new accommodation and Lucy couldn’t go along. She’s now in an Oldies Club foster home in Milton Keynes, Bucks.
Settled in quickly: Lucy settled into her foster home very quickly: she didn’t miss a meal and there were no accidents in the house. She’s also been left for 4.5 hours with no problems.
Good with dogs: Lucy has always lived with another dog and has been good with all dogs she has met.
Good with cats: Lucy is sharing her foster home with 2 cats and is respectful of them.
Good with children: Lucy could live with children of 5 years+ and would be fine with younger visiting children.
Excellent on walks: Lucy is good on lead and will only pull a little if another dog passes close by. Off lead she is brilliant. She has excellent recall, doesn’t go too far and waits for you to catch up! She enjoys a bit of a run around and lots of sniffing. She will also wait on command. Her previous owner told us that she likes to carry her own lead.
Loves the car: Lucy can’t wait to get in the car and she settles straight away.
Lucy’s favourite pastimes: Getting fuss and cuddles; Walks (especially off lead); Snoozing; Eating.
Lucy’s dislikes: Lucy doesn’t like having her paws touched or being groomed. Her previous home dealt with this by taking her to the groomers. She likes being stroked all over, just not with a brush or comb going through her fur! Fireworks make her want to climb inside your jumper. Aww bless!
Lucy’s perfect home: She’d like a fairly active home with plenty of fuss to be had. She’d like to have a doggy companion but this wouldn’t be essential if someone was there to spend plenty of time with her.
Health notes: Lucy has been given a clean bill of health. She is vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. Lucy has not yet been spayed as we don’t know when she’s due for a season and the vet recommends we wait until after her season to ensure she is spayed at the best time. Lucy can still be rehomed but her new owners must agree to have her spayed when the time is right and Oldies Club will pay for the spay.
Lucy’s foster mum says: “She can do sit, paw, stay, leave it, and she will collect the mail from your letter box! She’ll bark when someone knocks at the door but greets them nicely when you open the door. She doesn’t jump up unless you invite her to. I would sum Lucy up as follows: Intelligent; Alert; Loving; Easy-Going.”
“Look at me…” Can you resist?

She can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet her.

Oh I love her She looks and sounds absolutely lovely.
How does she react to being groomed? Does she do well at the groomers then?

Ive asked the fostering team to answer.
I think its probably that she doesnt like the brush. I have a couple of dogs like that when I do grooming. They arent aggressive and a professional groomer shouldnt have any issues getting them looking pretty.

That's what I assumed it would be but I just wanted to check
I have enquired about her but I was asked to check back in a week as they are proceeding with an application for her at the moment.
