Brambley ~ Social Little Lad – 2yo Black Greyhound
BRAMBLEY
Brambley is a 2 year old ex-racing greyhound boy. He is a small black lad with a thick kennel coat at the moment, but he will soon transform into a soft, sleek beauty once he is away from the kennel life. He has very pretty little eyes and a lovely white heart on his chest.
~ Personality ~
Brambley is a friendly, happy-go-lucky boy who soaks up all the attention you can give him. He is very good with people, and has a special fondness for little kiddies. He is excellent with children and is very gentle and calm around them. He adores a fuss and, as you can see, was definitely not camera shy!
~ Other Animals ~
Brambley is very good with other dogs of all shapes and sizes, and shared his previous home with a small JRT. He likes having the company of dogs and has always been around them, so we feel he would be happiest in a home with another dog or two. This boy has not been cat tested yet, but we will carry that out as soon as possible.
~ In the Home ~
Brambley has lived in a home before and was as good as gold. We would love to get this boy out of kennels sooner rather than later as he is such a sweetie-pie and is used to living in a home environment. New owners may need to give him a couple of days to readjust to the home life again, but it shouldn’t take him long at all to settle in.
~ Out and About ~
Like most greyhounds, Brambley is a pointy couch potato and does not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area once or twice a week. He likes travelling in the car and generally settles down calmly once on the road.
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
~ Where Am I? ~
Brambley is currently being kennelled in Ireland and will be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe when a suitable permanent or foster home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up, and if you are in the UK and wish to meet before adopting him, he will be fostered in the Norfolk area.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Brambley is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. This dear boy would benefit so very much from a chance to live in a foster home and Kerry Greyhound Connection is always eager for new foster volunteers. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.
If you are interested in adopting or short-term fostering Brambley, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs. Thanks!
