Honor ~ Sweet Little Shy Girl - 2yo Black Greyhound
HONOR
Honor is a 2 year old ex-racing greyhound girl who really didn’t like the racing life. She is a little black girl with a very dainty, deer-like build who really is so pretty. One her kennel coat sheds out she is going to be such a shiny little gem.
~ Personality ~
Honor is sadly quite a nervous girl who needs a bit if time and TLC to come out of herself. Right now she is quite untrusting of people and is jumpy of sudden moves and noises. She is now in a foster home, however, and we are sure that with steady love and attention, she will soon open up and show us her beautiful little character.
~ Other Animals ~
Honor is very good with other dogs, and really does need another dog(s) present to give her that helping hand. She learns a lot from them and tends to follow their lead when she’s unsure. Honor is sharing her foster home with another greyhound and a Jack Russell and is getting on good with them both. She has not yet been cat tested, but this can be carried out if required.
~ In the Home ~
Honor has just moved from kennels in to a home for the very first time, so she needs a few days to settle in and learn the routine. Everything is new to her, even things that people may take for granted such as the washing machine and television. So far she is doing good, and is just starting to relax a little. We will update with her progress when a bit more time has passed.
~ Out and About ~
Right now Honor doesn’t like to be walked near loud traffic or in busy areas, but her fosterer’s will start working on this once she settles in their home. All this girl needs is to learn to trust people, and we are sure that once that is achieved she will come on in leaps and bounds.
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
~ Where Am I? ~
Honor is currently in foster care in Sudbury, Suffolk. She can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet and collect her.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Honor is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
If you are interested in adopting Honor, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Emails are usually replied to within 24hrs. Thanks!
