Fizz - Terrier X (Essex)

Fizz is a very cute 13 year old Terrier X who came into Oldies Club care after the death of her owner. She had gone to live with a relative but didn’t get on with the resident dog there. Fizz is now in an Oldies Club foster home in Romford, Essex, waiting for someone to offer her a permanent home.

Settled quite quickly: Fizz took around a week to settle down fully at her foster home. She is happy to be left on her own for a few hours.

Good with cats, and with dogs outside: Fizz gets on well with cats and could live with them. She gets very excited when she sees other dogs on walks and, if allowed, would race up to them. She would be best as the only dog in her new home though as she likes all the attention to herself.

Fine with older children: Fizz is very sociable with people but is a little wary of young children as she isn’t used to them. She could live with children of 10+ years.

Loves walks: Fizz loves her walks and her foster carer takes her for a 30-40 minute walk every morning and evening, but she would also be happy to have a walk during the day as well. Fizz is good on the lead but not so good at recall as other things easily distract her attention.

Loves the car: Fizz is very good in the car and she loves being driven around!

Health notes: Fizz has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated. Fizz has a delicate tummy and the vet suggested that she be fed on either James Wellbeloved dried food or Chappie. The vet said that she may need to have some medicine which they prescribe from time to time to get her back on track. The vet also said that she does not look her age and acts like a younger dog.

Fizz’s likes: Every morning when she gets up she has to greet every member of the family before she will go out into the garden. She is very sociable and loves to get involved in anything you are doing. After her dinner in the evening she usually has a dental chew which she chases around and throws up in the air before demolishing it!

Fizz’s dislikes: She doesn’t like it when her foster carer is vacuuming and runs into the garden but keeps coming back to check if it’s finished – then runs about to show how pleased she is that you have finished!

Fizz’s perfect home: Fizz would be happier as the only dog in the household as she does like a lot of fuss and enjoys a good tummy rub. She’d like a home where she gets to spend plenty of time with people, but she can be left without problems. Other than that she just needs a home that will take her for plenty of good walks and where any children are over 10.



Foster carer’s summary: Fizz is an adorable little dog who will give her new owner loads of pleasure. She is eager to please and enjoys being around people.
