Django ~ 2yo Big Blue Greyhound Fella
DJANGO
Django is a beautiful big greyhound boy who is around 2 years old. He has a stunning blue coat with white trim, and is quite a tall stocky fella.
Django has a very lovable personality. He is like a giant blue teddy bear and definitely loves his cuddles! He is an active boy and likes to get out and about, the highlight of his day being walk time. He is also quite playful and outgoing, and has a gorgeous bubbley personality waiting to shine up.
Django could do with a bit of lead training as at the moment he does pull and is a strong boy. This is being worked on in the kennels and he is starting to settle down nicely in the walk once the initial excitement has worn off. We feel that once he is in a home environment with regular walks and exercise this initial energy burst will soon fade away and his progress will improve dramatically.
Django has been very good with the other greyhounds in our kennels, male and female, and seems to really enjoy their company. He has lived in a foster home for a couple of weeks with an assertive jack russell and a whippet was very well behaved with them both. Django quickly became housetrained during those few weeks he spent in the foster home so we feel it shouldnt take him too long to adjust back to living in a home again.
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs who are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also dont shed as much as other dog breeds such as retrievers or labradors, and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
Django is a very eyecatching fella and would make a stunning addition to a family. He would settle very well in to a home with other greyhounds already present, and is guaranteed to bring a lot of love and laughs to whomever decides to take him on.
Django is currently in kennels in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed prior to adoption and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. This lovely boy deserves to get his forever sofa now.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Django, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our information pack and adoption questionnaire. Thanks!
~~ KERRY GREYHOUND CONNECTION ~~
Kerry Greyhound Connection is a small voluntary organisation based in County Kerry, Ireland and Norfolk, England and operates through a network of volunteers. We can look after approximately 50 greyhounds at any one time, in both Ireland and the UK.
Each dog is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, de-flea'd and given a full veterinary check before being adopted.
We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in Ireland, the UK, Europe and the USA. We work hard to match the right hound to the right home, and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
We can be contacted via PM or through any of the following:

Re: Django ~ 2yo Big Blue Greyhound Fella
**UPDATE 07/2010**
Brilliant Django took part in the National Pet Expo in Dublin recently where he was a poster boy for how fantastic greyhounds are. He was flawless in his behaviour and manners when meeting everyone who stopped to pet him and also when meeting the vast array of other dog breeds.
Django is just fantastic in every way, I can not find a single flaw in him. Believe me when I say if I had the space he would be mine in a heartbeat!! We can not understand why he is being overlooked for so long. His lead training has paid off and he now walks to heel when out and about. He is actually a big lazy boy and gets tired very quickly, as this picture shows!
