Other: Thomas came in as a stray, neighbours had him neutered and released him back but he was never claimed. They fed him and took it in turns to provide shelter in porches, grooming his top coat. However they didnt do his underneath and he was extremely matted bless him. he is great to be groomed, does get a little upset when you come across a knot and will sneaky hiss and swipe, buts its in a pathetic way, paw just pads you gently and no claws out, he is just telling you he doesnt like being pulled with a comb bless, after he instantly has forgotton about it and purring away again head rubbing. He is very playful also. Thomas is great with kids and ok with some cats, he will hiss but when a cat hisses back he stops and backs down. The neighbourhood said he attacked the females and was fine with males, here he has only been round female cats and hasnt once gone to lash out. I havent seen him around male cats. Tomas doesnt like dogs at all so his new home must be a dog free home.
Anyone wanting to adopt Thomas must understand he must have dailey grooming to keep his fur tangle free, even with dailey grooming we are finding little tuffs of knots, nothing serious. This is because not only his coat long but also a double coat which is extremely thick. Please take this into consideration before asing to adopt him.
On arrival we thought his ears were small due to the mixed breed in him, how ever when I cleaned and checked his ears i doubted this as they didnt look natural and looked to have scarring. The vet has confirmed this and Thomas at some point has had his ears cropped, why we dont know and it could of been for medical reasons or cosmetic?
This boy has the most brilliant personality ever and will reward any new owner with unconditional love.

Re: Thomas, mainecoon x Nottingham
Typical weekly groom. Once each week I do a thouragh groom with him using a shedding furminator comb where it strips out the under coats dead fur. Then do his top coat aswell. Dailey he gets a general brush all over.
This is half of what comes out weekly bless him..

Re: Thomas, mainecoon x Nottingham
Me neither, I thought he would of been homed real fast. I wish he got on with dogs ok as I would of really been tempted to keep him myself, his character and effection is just unreal!
