Jake - Lovely 1 year old Lakeland Terrier - Fostered S.Wales
Jake is a lovely young Lakeland Terrier of approximately 1 year old. Jake was taken in to our vets by his owner to be euthanized due to him having seizures. Our vet persuaded him to sign Jake over and he has now come in to our care. He has only had one seizure since he was signed over two weeks ago. Jake is not on lifetime medication for his seizures but he has some medication to take if he has a seizure.
He is a very sweet boy who loves cuddling up on your lap for a snooze! Jake would happily lay on his back being stroked all day long if he could (so long as he's had a good, long walk first!).
Jake loves his walks and needs a home that can offer him an active lifestyle so he has plenty of opportunity to run off some of his energy. He is good on the lead with a harness, has great recall and loves playing fetch! He loves to run over to say hello to other dogs but then he will happily come back.
Jake is very good with other dogs but will tell them off if they are too bouncy or in his face.
He is a very clever boy who is house trained, will ask to go out and is crate trained. He stays in a crate when his fosterer goes out in case he has a seizure and other dogs are around. Jake also knows to sit for his food and to have his lead put on.
Jake's new forever home needs to be somewhere he can get plenty of attention and walks. He'd like a home where someone is around most of the day. Jake would be happy to live with other dogs and older children but he can't live with cats.
Jake has been castrated, micro chipped and vaccinated. He is currently on foster in South Wales but we home across the UK.

Fosterer update 30/08/12:
We had a visit to the vet last night to complete Jake's vaccinations. He didn't make a peep the whole time... he sat quietly in the waiting room, didn't fuss when the vet was examining him or giving him his injection. It was a very stress free visit I am glad to say Our vet has now said he is probably closer to 3 years old than 1 but he is still of course a darling!
Jake has made good friends with a labradoodle pup who comes to stay frequently, they play and chase and then cuddle up together to go to sleep, no doubt exhausted!
He is a sweet young boy who is going to make a lovely pet.

Jake has been checking his emails every day waiting for someone to offer him a forever home! As you can see from his face, no such luck yet.
Is Jake the right dog for your home?

He is a star! But his fosterer finds him quite distracting at work...
Can anyone offer Jake a forever home?

FOSTERER UPDATE:
"Jake is adorable, he has been with me a month already and I haven't seen so much as a twitch, let alone a seizure. He has been tired, very excited, even picked on by a friends dog and none of these prompted a seizure. During the night he sleeps in an armchair in my bedroom just in case anything should happen, and it hasnt.
He has so much love to give the right person, please dont allow something which might not happen put you off him, a healthy diet and plenty of exercise is all he asks for, oh and plenty of belly rubs!"
