Asia - Chow - 2 years old

Please meet Asia!
Asia is a 2 year old chow who has had a pretty horrific start in life. Asia was diagnosed with hip dysplasia and has since has operations on both of his hips to relieve this. His pain was causing aggression in his previous home, and after enduring some unpleasant experiences at the hands of his owners, vets and trainers...Asia was signed over to SEDR.
Asia came to us a very depressed dog, who looked more like a 12 year old than a 2 year old. His coat was severely matted, and his coat had grown over his collar making him very uncomfortable. Since being with us he has been bathed and clipped and is now on homeopathic treatment to help ensure he is pain free.
Since being with us, Asia has been working with our behaviorist and is almost unrecognizable from the dog who stiffly hobbled through our gates almost six months ago. Asia still has a very long way to go, but we feel that a home with experienced, patient and understanding people who are willing to continue working with our behaviorist will ensure Asia continues to go from strength to strength.
Asia has bitten in his previous home and continues to have some issues around being fussed, due to his previous experiences. We are looking for a home who are prepared to give Asia the time to learn to trust people again.
The 'musts' for Asia's new home are:
1. A home where there is already a resident dog 2. No cats!
3. No children
4. Those who are willing to to work with our behaviorist and Asia in the new home
5. A home with experienced and patient people.
Upon a successful home-check we ask that Asia's new family visit three times to help begin to create a bond with him. Upon adoption, our Behaviorist will provide a consultation in the home and also offer help and support thereafter.
Asia is currently with South East Dog Rescue in Swanley, Kent, but we rehome all over the country.
