Winnie ~ Very Playful, Loving CF Girl - 2yo Black Greyhound

WINNIE

Meet Winnie. Winnie is a 2 year old ex-racing greyhound girl who wasn’t a fan of the racing world and would much rather be someone’s lap dog! She is quite a small, neat dog who could indeed just about squeeze herself on to your lap for cuddles! She has a black coat with a white muzzle, neck and chest and it looks like her tail has been dipped in white paint too. Her coat is a bit thick and dull at the moment and she is currently shedding. With a bit of time and good food this lass will soon be as bright as a button!



Winnie is a very friendly girlie and loves to play with you. She has the habit of mouthing your hand, but is surprisingly gentle about it. If this behaviour is not desired it shouldn’t be too hard to correct as Winnie is a very sharp, attentive girl. She likes to be stimulated and challenged and we feel she would take great enjoyment from learning a few tricks.



Little Winnie would be best suited to an active family who will show her the big wide world and all its joys. She has not seen much so far and is bursting to explore everywhere with her humans. Winnie would likely be best with older children purely because when she gets excited she could knock a younger child over and her wagging tail is rather whip like!



Winnie gets on well with other dogs and would definitely benefit from living with another dog of a similar age and mindset so they could wear each other out. She is small dog friendly and may be suitable to live with cats, though this will be tested thoroughly before she is officially deemed as cat friendly.



Winnie was in a short term foster home before coming across to the UK, and got on very well. She shared her foster home with several other dogs and older children and had a blast playing with them all. It may take her a few days to settle in to a new home, but with a bit of patience and gentle guidance it won’t take her long to relax and feel at home.



Winnie is currently in kennels in Norfolk, UK. She can be homed anywhere in the UK, but please note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet and collect her. She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

Kerry Greyhound Connection is a small voluntary organisation based in County Kerry, Ireland and Norfolk, England. It operates through a network of volunteers spaced over Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe. We can look after approximately 70 greyhounds at any one time, in Ireland and the UK.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and given a full veterinary check before being adopted.
We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in Ireland, the UK, Central Europe and the USA.
