Amy - 7 1/2 year old Golden Retriever - good with kids, cats and dogs
Amy is a gorgeous 7 and a half year old Golden Retriever. She originally came to us about 18 months ago as an ex breeding dog and was adopted by a lovely family where she has been very happy.
Unfortunately her owners now both have to work longer hours and Amy is not coping with being left so they have made the very tough decision to find Amy a new home where she can have someone home with her 99% of the time.
Here's what her mum has to say about her:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amy has been with us for 15 months now and in that time has come on in leaps and bounds.
When she came to us she was very nervous and could be very possessive of her toys but as the months went by she soon settled into the hustle and bustle of a busy, noisy family.
She loves long walks and is very good on the lead. The only issue we still have with her is she gets scared when traffic goes by so we tend to stick to the beach or to the river walks. Off the lead she very rarely leaves my side and if she does she comes straight back when called.
I think it is essential she is re-homed with another dog as she sticks to my other dog like glue.
She still has an aversion to doorways, we worked out that if you leave the door open and don't stand in it she will be fine but if someone is in her way she will just go the other way.
She loves her baths and will be quite content to sit all night with her head being stroked so someone with patience is essential! If you don't give her a fuss she will paw at your arm until you do.
She does have a bit of a liking for shoes... she doesn't chew them but does carry them to you as you enter the room, we think it’s her way of saying hello!
She is more than happy to share her home with cats and I even came home one day to find the rabbit asleep on her back!
She is more than good with the children.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last year Amy had to have some mammary tumours removed; she made a full recovery and is now full of health with no health issues. She has been vaccinated, neutered and micro chipped.
Gorgeous Amy will make a wonderful addition to any home where she can get the company and attention she adores.
