Glen - Labrador X Tyne & Wear
Gorgeous Glen is a 9 year old Labrador Cross who came into our care because his owner could no longer care for him. He’s now in an Oldies Club foster home in Whitley Bay, Tyne & Wear, waiting for someone to offer him (and Teddy!) a permanent home.
Good with dogs, cats and children: Glen is very friendly with other dogs and shows no aggression whatsoever. He’s so easy going that he should also get on well with cats – and he was said to be good with cats in his previous home. Glen is also very good with children, but he has a tendency to snatch food so this might be frightening for very young children, although Glen has no malice.
Good on walks and in car: Gen is excellent on the lead. Off lead he never strays too far and he has very good recall. He’s also good in the car.
Glen likes… Eating!!! Walking; Offering his teddy bear to everyone.
Glen dislikes… Nothing really. He barked a few times on bonfire night but wasn’t distressed.
Glen’s perfect home: Glen could fit into any home. He is such a star.
Health notes: Glen is neutered, vaccinated microchipped and wormed. He does not have fleas and so the vet advised that flea treatment was unnecessary. The vet advised that Glen is a very fit dog and he has no signs of arthritis. He does have some thickening of the lens of the eye but that is usual in a dog of his age. The vet also detected a slight heart murmur which he said was of little concern in the absence of any related symptoms and again was not unusual in a dog of Glen’s age.
Foster carer’s summary of Glen: “Glen is affectionate, easy going, well behaved and happy. He’s a very sweet-natured dog”.
Doesn’t Glen sound a simply perfect family dog?
If you can offer Glen a permanent home, please refer to our Adoption Procedures for information about the adoption process. You can then contact an Oldies Club rehoming co-ordinator as follows:
Email: rehome@oldies.org.uk
Telephone: 0844 586 8656
He can be rehomed anywhere in the UK, subject to a satisfactory home visit, but note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to meet him.
