Poppy ~ Urgent Appeal - 3yo Fawn Whippet X

POPPY

Poppy is a 3 year old whippet X with a lovely little face and fawn coat. At about 19” to the shoulder, she is just slightly taller than a whippet. Poppy was adopted by Kerry Greyhounds a few years ago but sadly her owner has passed away suddenly, leaving Poppy homeless. The poor little girl is being looked after by a neighbour, but can not stay there as the neighbour’s dog is aggressive to other dogs and its difficult to keep them separate.



Poppy is a fantastic little girl and has no flaws. She is a friendly, confident girl who loves meeting people and other dogs. She travels brilliantly in the car and enjoys trips out. She has good recall and can be let offlead provided there’s no sheep around. Her ideal day is a nice daily walk in the countryside and then a long snooze in her favourite chair with a quick dash around the garden in between to keep her happy. She is not cat friendly.



Poppy is a real treasure, and will make a wonderful friend for someone. She would be happy to live with another dog, and should also slot happily into an existing pack. She desperately needs to find her new forever sofa now so that she can start to settle after all this turmoil.

This gorgeous girl is currently in Ireland, but can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK on Wednesday 11th August if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. She is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

Kerry Greyhound Connection is a small voluntary organisation based in County Kerry, Ireland and Norfolk, England and operates through a network of volunteers. We can look after approximately 70 greyhounds at any one time, in Ireland and the UK.

Each dog is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and given a full veterinary check before being adopted.
We assess the suitability of all home offers, and we have homed greyhounds in Ireland, the UK, Europe and the USA.
