Ted ~ 3yo Impressive Looking Greyhound (KGC)
TED
Ted is a large male greyhound who is around 2 or 3 years old. He is a truly stunning boy with a rich fawn coat and very distinctive markings around his head and muzzle. This boy is definitely an eye catcher!
Ted is a newbie to the kennels so we are still getting to know him. So far he has behaved like a real gentleman with the other dogs and hasn't caused any trouble when out on his walks, though he can be strong on the lead when he sniffs something interesting and could do with a bit of work in that area. He has not yet been tested with cats or small dogs, but these can be carried out prior to adoption if needed.
This gorgeous lad is currently being kenneled in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure. This impressive looking fella is sure to draw lots of attention when out on walks.

**UPDATE 06/2010**
Ted was lucky enough to partake in our KGC Annual Jamboree in Kerry, Ireland, where he behaved very well with the crowds of people and numerous dogs. He also drew a lot of attention, being such a pretty big boy with unusual facial markings.
Ted is a big cuddley boy who enjoys the company of people and other greyhounds. He is, however, not small dog friendly right now and will need work in this area before he can be safely walked around small terrier and toy breeds. This can be greatly improved on with the right owner and some patience, all he needs is lots and lots of socialising with all types of dog so that he can learn how to properly interact with them. He is not cat friendly.
Like most greyhounds, Ted will not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 20min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a secure area once or twice a week.
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs who are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family with children, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the elderly. Greyhounds also dont shed as much as other dog breeds such as retrievers or labradors, and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting the gorgeous Ted, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our information pack and adoption questionnaire which must be filled out prior to adoption. Thanks!

Re: Ted ~ 3yo Impressive Looking Greyhound (KGC)
**UPDATE 07/2010b**
Ted is now in foster care, and can finally get to experience some home comforts and start to relax. He can also start to get some one-on-one training and socialisation with other dog breeds and learn how to meet them correctly when out on walks. He is a lovely, impressive big boy who really deserves his shot at a forever home. All he needs is a bit of training and patience and he will be the perfect hound.
**UPDATE 08/2010**
Ted is settling very well in to his foster home, which he shares with another male greyhound and a weimaraner x. He has been clean in the house from the day he arrived and is good and mannerly with his new doggie housemates. He is well behaved in the home, though is a big ‘foodie’ and at the moment is very interested in what everyone has for their dinner! He’s also taken a liking to eating the apples off his fosterer’s apple tree!
Ted is very much a people hound, and simply loves introducing himself to everyone he meets when out on walks, young and old. He has been very mannerly with the other medium to large sized dogs he has met so far. He does need to be muzzled right now around smaller dogs as he is interested in their movements, but he doesn’t whine, lunge or bark so with some training and socialising he should soon improve. This is being worked on in his foster home.
Ted’s hobbies so far seem to be eating, sleeping and watching TV. He gets completely enthralled by the television, especially when there’s something with animals on it. He watched the whole of Garfield 2 at the weekend, and the first 10 minutes of the next programme in the hope that Garfield and Odie would appear back on the screen! When they didn't he turned around and went to sleep.
At only 2, Ted a bit of a big puppy at heart, and his fosterer thinks he'll be lots of fun when he gains a bit more confidence and learns what toys are for.
This gorgeous lad is currently in foster care in Norfolk, UK. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
