Other: Victor is a 18 year goldon oldie who came into rescue after his owner fell very ill and had to be hospitalised. He was taken in 5 year previous as a stray cat. He is used to other cats and dogs but with his age now, if homed with them they would need to be calm and considerate around other cats. Victor needs a nice quiet home to live out his remainder years in peace so we won't rehome to a family with young children or cats or dogs that are still young and playful, boistress and active.
Victor has a heart murmur and it looks like his lower eyelids are turned in. The vet said there were signs of changes to the eyes which could mean Victor’s had ulcers in the past possibly caused by irritation of the eyelashes on the eyes. If Victor was a younger cat with no heart murmur then he’d consider surgery on the eyes but due to his age and heart murmur he’s reluctant to do an anaesthetic. He thinks Victor has learnt to live with the 3rd eyelid permanently up to protect the eyes. A gel can be prescribed if his eyes start to look sore or infected which acts like a contact lens to protect the eye. But at the moment his eyes don’t looks sore and no signs of infection there.
