URGENT - Bim the older Border Collie, owner has passed away
***URGENT HOME REQUIRED***

Bim's owner has passed away and all poor Bim has left of his previous life is one of his owners jumpers to comfort him. Bim has lived a comfortable home life and cannot understand what has happened and why he is alone and in kennels. Bim is around 10 years old and really needs to be relaxing in front of the fire at someone's feet, not staring out through bars at this miserable February weather.
Bim is very sociable and very responsive to you. He visibly perks up once taken out of his kennel and is so pleased to be with you. He turns to smile at you once on the lead and really wants to be fussed. I spent some time with him in the office and he loves nothing better than to tuck his head into you whilst you kiss it. I was whispering in his ear how lovely he was and he just kept pressing himself closer. I can't tell you what a lovely dog he is and it broke my heart to put him back in his kennel....eventually! I kept putting it off as I couldn't bear to do it.

Ideally we would be looking for older human company for him, but equally he could live with sensible children who would respect his age. Bim has previously lived with another dog and is perfectly dog-friendly. Bim walks very well on the lead and I imagine he would be happy with a couple of short walks a day where he could have a good sniff and a potter. Bim is in our kennels in King's Lynn, Norfolk, but could be rehomed outside of the county, within reason and subject to a successful homecheck. Bim is already neutered and has started his vaccinations and will be microchipped.

We are desperate to find him somewhere lovely, somewhere where he will have plenty of company, somewhere he will be cosseted and pampered and comforted
If you think you can offer Bim all these things please get in touch with us as below:
If you are local to King's Lynn please telephone the Centre on 01553 618889 between 11am -3pm Monday to Saturday.
If you live outside the local area please complete one of our rehoming forms found here on our website: Rehoming Form
We all look forward to hearing from you.
Many thanks,
Jo

Thanks guys....I can't stop worrying about him. Our kennels are heated 24/7 (with their own individual radiators), but it's not the same as being in a cosy home of course, and he must be so miserable.
I've had a few enquiries, but no-one suitable unfortunately.

Re: URGENT - Bim the older Border Collie, owner has passed away
Have you asked oldies club and dogsblog to publicise him? What about a foster home for him?
Re: URGENT - Bim the older Border Collie, owner has passed away
Hi Di
I always put our dogs on dogsblog
as I get such a good response from there, I've put him on Dogpages, sent his details to the Oldies Club and of course he is on our website. I've had a few enquiries, but nothing suitable unfortunately.
We don't have many dogs in foster homes as we get quite a lot of visitors to the kennels and the dogs not actually there would miss out. I've had one kind offer of a foster home (not local) but they have cats so he needs to be tested. We'd really prefer him to go straight into a permanent home though so as to not add to the upheaval he's already gone through.
I did have a fab home lined up for him when I knew he was coming in, but it didn't go to plan sadly. Gutted wasn't the word.

Feel free to put a plea out on the Rafa facebook page and the twitter jobbie if you know how that one is done
Re: URGENT - Bim the older Border Collie, owner has passed away
I never have chance to get on Facebook, although I am on there, and I've never even looked at Twitter.
I will try to have a look though.
