not getting an e-mail ref messages Empty not getting an e-mail ref messages

what have I done wrong,,I have just logged in and had 3 messages,,but I had not had an e-mail saying I had a message

I'll check your settings, in the meantime can you see if they've been sent to your spam folder?

They may be being put in your ISP's spam folder as well as your own. I'm with BT and have found some (not many I have to say) emails I wanted in the Trash folder. You have to access your mail via the website to find out.
