Cain, unknown mixture of a yr fostered by Four Paws Animal Rescue (South Wales) Cainkiss-1

Cain arrived with us on Monday 1st August, as an unclaimed stray from the pound.  We therefore have no history for him.  He is a very friendly little boy and loves a cuddle.  He is currently in foster with 3 other male dogs, 2 children and rabbits.  He has so far proved to be well behaved around all.  Cain has settled really well into our family and daily routine and sleeps downstairs at night, with the other dogs.  He will cry for a little when first left, but quickly settles.
He is such a handsome little boy, though we are unsure of the exact breeds that he is mixed with.  He is tan and black, with a white flash on his chest and is currently sporting a large sore on his nose. 🤷  He adores human company, and just loves to play with toys i.e. chewy bones, balls etc.  He will carry them around for ages and engage you in play whenever he can.
Cain loves to cuddle, and will snuggle into you as close as he possibly can.  He moulds himself to the shape of your body, and is currently led across the back of my neck, with his head on my shoulder.  We do not know how he walks on a lead yet as he is awaiting his vaccinations before we can take him out.  He is due to have the first of these on Friday 05.08.11.

Update 05.08.11
Cain is turning out to be one of the most affectionate little dogs I have ever met.  He absolutely adores everyone he meets and loves nothing more than to cuddle up to you.  He loves my children and covers them in kisses at every opportunity he gets. :luv:  Since he came to us from the pound on Monday, he has really settled down and is much calmer.  He settles much quicker at night and when I leave for work.  Whoever is lucky enough to add this little boy to their family is going to be very lucky indeed. He is a real sweetie.
We will update his thread with progress as we get to know each other. So far we are all a little bit  :inlove: with him.

Update 06.08.11
Cain had his first vaccinations yesterday, and is due to be neutered next Wednesday.  He was a little unsettled during his visit to the vets, but we were kept waiting a long time in a full waiting room, so this is understandable.  When the waiting room was quieter he settled down nicely, and when he went in for his consultation, he hopped straight up onto the examination table without being asked, and sat nicely while he was checked over and had his injection. clap1 :cloud9:  He weighed 13.3kg and the vet said he appears to be looking well.  He does tend to bark and whimper when excited or nervous, but we are working on this and have already seen improvements.  All in all, he is a lovely boy.

Update 07.08.11
Cain continues to be a joy to foster.  He is confirmed by the vet as still being a young boy, around 12 months old and as such is still quite puppylike in his behaviour.  He does still have a tendancy to chew, but we are working on this.  He will sit and give his paw when asked, and takes treats gently.  He likes to be wherever his human companions are and does not like to be left for too long.  Cain loves to play with the other 3 dogs in the house and will roll around with them for hours.  He continues to do well with his toileting and has only had the very rare accident whilst with us.  Cain continues to be very cuddly and affectionate and is such a lovely boy.  He will require further training and good routines as he is still very young and learning all the time.

Update 09.08.11
Cain is due to be neutered tomorrow, so will probably be feeling a little sorry for himself.  He is enjoying extra cuddles tonight.  I am pleased to say that his nervous barking and crying is now far less frequent and he is a far more settled little boy. :luv:  We love having him here and he seems to grow more affefctionate every day.  He is constantly playing with my boys but likes his cuddle time best, and follows us everywhere.

Update 10.08.11
My beautiful boy was neutered today and is currently receiving lots of cuddles as he sleeps off the after effects of the anaesthetic.  The vets reported that he was a very good boy and is so far leaving his stitches alone.  He has an appointment in 10 days time to have them removed. He will also receive his second vaccination at the same appointment and we will then be able to take him for some lovely walks.  We will also be able to bring him along to some events so that he can meet his public and hopefully find his forever home.

Please put in an application in the first instance if you are interested in Cain. Approved applications will be home checked. Details of our adoption procedures and adoption application form are http://www.fourpawsanimalrescue.org.uk/adoption_procedures.html

Update 14.08.11

I fall more and more in love with this affectionate little man every day. He is quite simply a cuddle monster and loves to be curled up as near to you as possible. He continues to interact really well with my dogs and is fantastic with my children and everyone he meets. The pics are quite deceiving as he is a small boy who fits neatly in your lap. Someone is going to be so lucky to add Cain to their family as he wants nothing more than to love and be loved in return.

He sits and gives his paw and takes treats very gently from you. His manners are improving every day and he no longer barks and whimpers nervously as he did when he first arrived. Please consider offering this fantastic little man the forever home he deserves.
